The MNG Group of Companies started out as Günal Construction, Trade and Industry, Inc. and MAPA Construction and Trade, Inc. Specialized in building and infrastructure contracting, both were firms that provided construction services to world standards.

The MNG Group of Companies has expanded and diversified its activities across a broad spectrum that includes hotel investments and management, energy production and marketing, air transport in Turkey and abroad, domestic cargo transport, and aircraft maintenance and repair services, as well as finance and the media.

With a total operating capital of 665 million USD, the MNG Group of Companies has completed projects totaling upwards of 5.55 billion USD to date, with a further 4.56 billion USD worth of projects ongoing in 2011.

Through its contracting firms, the MNG Group of Companies has successfully completed superstructure and infrastructure projects including skyscrapers and other buildings of all kinds, shopping and commercial centers, hotels, resort villages, industrial plants, dams, hydroelectric power plants and irrigation systems, tunnels , roads and, highways, reinforced concrete silos, waste water and drinking water treatment plants, , ground stabilization and piling works. At the same time, the MNG Group of Companies also has within it contracting firms specialized in areas such as geotechnical and piling works , mechanical-electrical plumbing systems and architectural design services.

With a combined bed capacity totaling more than 6,000, the WOW Kremlin Palace, WOW Topkapı Palace, WOW Bodrum Resort, WOW Istanbul and WOW Airport Hotel are managed by the Group’s qualified and experienced personnel.

With a total installed capacity of 95 MW and an annual production of 650,000,000 kwh, the Hamzalı, Reşadiye 1-2-3 and Aralık hydroelectric power plants were built by the MNG Group’s energy firms and recently bought by a foreign energy company. The MNG Group of Companies continues to build and invest in hydroelectric power plants in Turkey with 5 hydroelectric power plants currently under construction in various parts of the country.

Entirely owned by the MNG Group of Companies, MNG Airways, Inc. boasts Turkey’s largest air cargo capacity (approximately 350 tons) and a fleet of 9 cargo aircraft. Specialized in aircraft maintenance and repair, MNG Technic, Inc. provides technical maintenance and repair services for domestic and foreign airlines at its own 60,000 square-meter facilities at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, which can simultaneously service 16 narrow-bodied, or 4 wide-bodied and 8 narrow-bodied planes.

MNG Cargo, Inc., provides domestic cargo services throughout Turkey with its 2,000 vehicles and upwards of 6,000 personnel operating from more than 600 branches.
